3D Bunnie Rabbot by Benj18BK 3D Bunnie Rabbot by Benj18BK
This is my second Sonic related submission to DeviantArt. I'm trying to get back into the mood into doing 3D and have decided to practice on modeling characters. I chose to model my interpretation of Bunnie Rabbot of the Sonic the Hedgehog Franchise if present in a video game today. Bunnie was harder for me to decided on what direction to take her appearance and I have actually several interpretations. The one I ultimately chose resembles more of her "original" design. In the future I plan on texturing her properly to give much needed detail to her metallic limbs (details which I chose not to model). All my works I consider WIP and would love to hear the feedback of the various communities. Stay tuned there will be more to come!

If Bunnie can be converted for Poser and Daz Studio, I would love to have her in my renders. Already I have Tails and Amy Rose.

Well, I have someone who is currently going to to work on making a rigged model of Bunnie. He's done great models of Tails and Vulpix for me already.

I'm glad you like Sally too. I do though like the idea of Sonic and Sally but not to the capacity that regular SonSal fans do. They have good chemistry and are perfect foils for one another's character which is entertaining. Of course, I don't support SonAmy because it would destroy Amy's quirky shallow character and reducing her to the "token" girlfriend with no purpose in life which I would hate to see happen to her. Anyone else being paired with him in the current canons besides Amy, Breezie, or Sally is utterly ridiculous. But this is just my opinion. :)

Yes, Mega Man was one of my sources of inspiration for her updated look. Mega Man and Mega Man X both have a very simplistic design that always seems to look modern and futuristic without trying too hard. I feel it's because of this that he never looks "dated" and I wanted Bunnie to look timeless as well. I think that is why they gave her such a makeover overhaul in the comics in the first place but I think the makeover they did was too drastic.

Interesting, though I think if she were in games today the model would be much more detailed. ^^;
What program are you using?

For an in-game real-time model I don't think she needs to be any more detailed than she is (if you are talking about her actual form or mass). Plus she hasn't been textured yet so she isn't 100% complete. A good texture map can make a world of a difference with the help of good lighting and shaders. I wouldn't use this Bunnie or Sally model for a cinematic or in-game cinematic but considering the fast gameplay and art style/direction normally associated with the franchise I think they would do just fine. Thanks though for your comment! I love to hear feedback from other CG students. I'm trying to see if I'm going in the right direction and your comment does help. Stay tuned! There are more models to come! :D

Oh, I've been trained to use 3d Studio Max and I'm studying Maya. All my models I've posted thus far have been created in 3d Studio Max. Good luck on your studies! I think you are doing good job at lighting!

I was referring to poly count, but it would still be low. You could make her look more complicated with a few attribute maps, of course. A good color map with a normal map can go a long way. :nod:

What sort of game did you have in mind, though? I was thinking along the lines of PS3 / PC (high-end). Yours looks appropriate for the styles I've seen on the Wii, or maybe the DS depending on the poly count.
Of course, if I were to do something like this, I would probably go for her newer design in the comics, which would make a huge difference... ^^;

But thank you. I'm trying to push myself as a 3D lighter. Most of what I've learned is modeling, but it's not my strong-point. Thanks, and good luck to you too! :thumbsup:

Yes, more on the lines of the Wii. It would if I where to go with her new look but I personally favor the old look. :) It's less complicated visually and I think it allows you to focus more on her character and expressions than her apparel.

Your welcome and Thanks! May both are futures be bright. :D
